mas y mas

Yep. More fixed in the forest. When I have a short time frame for the riding, I head for the SS or the fixie. It feels rightest. Mixed the route up some today, which was fun.

Now that I've had a few good rides on the Hunter stem, other problems with the Crosscheck's fit make themselves felt. (Perhaps it's just that I ain't ever satisfied? Non, there are other bikes in my lineup which are perfect...) I am not completely stoked on the Midge bars. The flats are pretty narrow when the bars are angled to put the drop section flat enough for use. I used the bars at a different angle in the beginning, and this provided a wider platform. I think I'll be going back to using the Nitto 48cm(!) bars that are on my other drop barred rides. At some point. I got a lot of irons in the fire bike-part-swap-wise right now.

And, so. If you find yourself with some time on yer hands, watch this: (HI-larious)

i liked the 48 noodles but would bash my forearms when riding the rough down in the drops. painful. bell laps now handle the task.

and i did my share of moonlit riding this am. just bought a good light and didn't use it; don't tell my wife.

I have those bars on my LHT and my Black Cat cross, and it's not been an issue. Perhaps it's because of positioning. My bars are level, not angled up at all and the levers are mounted fairly low so I can grab at them from the drops.

We're back to the celebratory differences between riders' bodies and styles', I guess.

If your wife is anything like mine, she'll skim over most of your posting while muttering "bike, bikes, more bikes..." and not see it at all, at all.

Hey- will you work up a post with photos detailing your Tomicog hub set up and experiences with it? I'm looking at fixed hub options and it would help to see your studied opinions.
