The public access is 1am-3am, and reservations are required. The group limit is 4 per, so if more are coming we need to split it up. $20 a person, nonrefundable/nontransferable. They are hippied out and all, but dang! are they militant about gatekeeping. Keeping all that in mind, I feel confident that this crack team has the skills to pull off whatever we want. Unless I just blew it big time posting this on the world wide web.

Serious Moonlight Tour

!st edition, players. Next Saturday, February 4th will be a nice close to full weekend night, and it. Is. On.

I don't see snow in the forecast for us. This can be the Full Kickass Dirt Connector Moon here in the Land of the Lotus Eaters. I will blow your minds with the sneaky get-thrus. You will blow your pants out with the gut busting efforts. We will blow the cobwebs away with some exhilarating descents. Meet at the top of the incline at half past the monkey's ass, and bring your squishy bike.

I will bring mine.



Tonight was light enough to ride by already. Well, not the technical stuff... but you could make the sweet sweet singletrack happen. 2 way dirt commute repeat. I'm feeling that old chest thumping type frogginess creeping in. You know the one, where you can kick and kick again while charging up twisty narrow ways?

A few thoughts in relation to our recent long driving Road Trip...

Did y'all see "Crazy Heart"? My favorite part of that movie is Bad Blake getting out of his car and his belt buckle is undone. That is the only way to log some miles comfortably.

Lastly, for now, the Full Wolf Moon is nominally scheduled for Monday the 9th but has been postponed until Wednesday the 11th. Unless I beg off cuz I'm old.

I experiment, like a scientist

The Fall has backed it's as_ on up in here. Cooler heads, etc. You feel it? I'm feelin it. What with this rainy rain and all, the weather is lookin kinda shaky...and so I am, with the power vested in me, realigning the celestial to suit my earthly ends viz a viz the up and coming Full (snicker) Beaver Moon. So oyez oyez horale:

The Full Beaver Moon shall be on Tuesday November 8, 2011.

Got it? Good. And, if it looks good on the other nights (maybe Wednesday) then we will see.


OK, I been noodling with my elbow and avoiding strenuous postures and using my sinister hand for stuff and it's feeling pretty OK. The cross bike's handlebars put my elbow into a compromising grip (you know, given present circumstances), so I rode the flat barred full squish the other day to see and that is what is up for the mendy mend. Just letting you people know how it will be on this full moon ride. Ride bikes, drink beers.


And, plus, in the interest of Fall's arrival and night rides of increasing frequency, duration, and potency: The Supernova E3 Triple is hunka hunka burning dynamo powered love. I will be receiving a test model here at HQ soon and I'll get back to you, but 800(!)lumens at 33feet for a generator light(?!) is a danged impressive figure to my mind. They also produce "The Plug", which I cannot find on the website, but it is a USB port in the form of a tall top cap to use the dynamo power to charge your electronics. I will look into this further as well. Seems like a winner. Click on that link to check out the German made goodness.

Tragedy

It has been brought to my attention that the Interbike is to be held in September, such that it would conflict with the White Rim Overnight. Being as how that ride kinda sorta has to be coincidental with the Full Harvest Moon.


Maybe we can reschedule for the Full Beaver Moon, on November 10th? Or something?





And, plus this Tour day France is exciting! I have been to the mountain and come back jaded, but Thor(!) and my little Frenchman T. Voeckler are really turning 2011 into some believable fun. Hot bike on bike action and all that.

Oh, and the Full Wolf Moon? A howling success. 14% wider and 30% brighter! Bikes, gloomy cloud cover which kept the riff raff out yet gave way to the perfect moonlit idyll, drunken stupor...check, check, check.

How about this weather, hunh?

Yes, it sure has been raining...and it is scheduled (pronounced like it's spelled) to rain even more on Saturday! So in an attempt to actually ride the bikes, the Full Wolf Moon is being rescheduled (that's right, you heard right) for tonight: Friday night at 7:30 in the evening. Meet at the Parker Flats Cut-off entrance. You know the one.

There will be the riding from town for those interested- get at me.

In the event of a dry(ish) Saturday night, well, the Full Moon will be on then, too. Carry on.
