MUSIC. If you take away the music it ain't much, just a lot of it. Meaning no offense.

I am blissfully ignorant.

Gunnar- That's right! you're not from Texas...I'd out up Jerry Jeff's achingly poignant "5 and dimer's", but it is not readily available. Imagine.

Haydenlord- well, you are ignorant. Ohhhhhhhhh.

Jerry Jeff Walker(Ronald Crosby)is from New York. What more can I say? Oh, and OLD FIVE AND DIMERS was written by Billy Joe Shaver. Who is actually FROM Corsicana....Texas!!!

reverend dick said...

Gunnar-...but Texas wants you anyway!

And plus, Ronald's version is just better. Are them fightin' words?

I've seen Ronald live twice. Ronald? I kinda understand the name change, me not being born Gunnar and all. Now I bought all his records when he was still recording, but his live performance was a desperate man standing up on a stage shouting. I believe there may have been a sobriety issue. Possibly mine - I went twice.

Texas may want me, it's just that I don't want Texas. Nor do you apparently. You seemed to have hauled your sorry ass out of there as soon as you could. To a town named after candy.

No offense to Jacky Jack, Texas or you. Well, maybe Texas a little.

Well, I hate to even SEEM to back off my staunch PRO-Texas stance, but truly I have hauled my candy ass elsewhere. And even enjoy certain aspects of other places.

BUT, the feel of Texas is a different and wonderful thing. And Texas is too big to take offense.

Em. Do yo happen to own the record that has the version of %5 and dimers? It's also got "Standin at the big hotel", "Looking for the Heart of Saturday night", etc. I had it on vinyl years ago, and let it slip away. If I could only have one album for my desert island...

I have a friend, Gary Walker, who actually is from Texas. I spent a week on the road (in Puerto Rico) with him trying to explain to me how much fun it was to "be" from Texas and wear manly footware and big hats without feeling like a damned fool. We were sometimes in "bad" neighborhoods and the locals were eyeing his Charlie Dunns and the matching belt with a buckle the size of a plate. I'm surprised we survived...but he had that Texas swagger that backed them off. Check me at home. I did the best I could for you.

Patch Kit Guy- you got no glue. Let me know when we get to that point. A signifying eyebrow raise/darting glance will suffice.

HaydenLord- you are the only one making sense here; I apologize.

Do you people even RIDE bikes?
